Quinte Leatherbacks Boccia Club
The Quinte Leatherbacks Boccia Club was established to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to experience the joy, challenge, and connection that sport provides. Through inclusive, accessible, and affordable boccia programs, we empower athletes of all abilities to build confidence, develop skills, foster friendships, and thrive as valued members of our community. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, compete, and reach their full potential in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport of control and accuracy played on an indoor court about the size of a pickleball court. Players propel balls towards the target or white “jack” ball. Each side has six balls (red or blue) per end to try and score points. The closest side to the target ball when all the balls have been played, scores. Boccia can be played head-to-head, in teams of three or in pairs.
The game is played from one end of the court and players remain in their designated throwing boxes in a seated position during the entire game (either four or six ends). This inclusive sport is perfect for all ages and abilities! Join the fun and learn to play BOCCIA!
