Description |
Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize and execute the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's on May 25, 2024. We're seeking volunteers from these areas: Quinte West and Brighton; Belleville; Prince Edward County; Tweed and Centre Hastings; and Bancroft. The Walk is a national event, and will take place on the same day and time in these communities. Community Volunteer Committee Members: - you live/work/play in one of the communities listed above; and/or - you have a connection to the Alzheimer Society; and/or - you're connected to businesses/organizations/Chamber of Commerce in your community - you're available to meet virtually or in person on a monthly basis from January 2024 to May 27, 2024 - you can work independently and have sound judgement Event Day Volunteers: (May 27 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM) - you bring your warmth, enthusiasm and smile to the event - you are an Ambassador for the Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward - you may be involved in the set up and/or tear down of the event - you may be asked to register walkers, participate in the warm up event, mingle with walkers, and other duties as assigned - you may choose to walk in the event - you may choose to fundraise for the event |
Training Details | A training session will be scheduled prior to event. All event day volunteers will be expected to attend this important meeting. Volunteer expectations for the day will be reviewed and questions answered. |
Working Conditions |
The Community Volunteer Committee meetings will be held virtually through zoom (or other platform) once a month from January 2024 to May 2024. The in-person event will occur rain or shine. You need to be in good physical health. You will be walking and standing for several hours - 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Please dress according to the weather, wear comfortable shoes, bring any food, drinks and medication you may require, reading glasses, sun glasses, sunscreen and bug repellant. If you are involved in the set up / tear down of the event, there may be some lifting of tables, chairs and tents. You may be asked to assist with registration, the warm up, and other duties as assigned. |
