| Description | The Belleville site of Quinte Health is looking for people who are interested in joining the Spiritual Care team, as ‘duty chaplains.’ These chaplains would be onsite for an afternoon shift (1-5pm) to visit patients, listed on the daily Duty Chaplain list, to offer spiritual and religious support. Most chaplains offer a minimum of 1 afternoon a month. This work is not about converting/proselytizing or judging, and demands an approach to others that is respectful, unassuming, non-judgmental, humble, sensitive, compassionate, accepting/welcoming, and, most of all, preserves dignity, recognizes the right to refuse, and ensures confidentiality. As well, these chaplains would be oncall for the Service during their shift, and would respond to CODES (Code Stroke, Code Blue/Pink, Code White, Code Red, specifically). Training would be provided. A current police records check, including vulnerable sector, and COVID vaccinations, would be necessary. A letter of recommendation from a religious/spiritual community leader would be encouraged. |
