Impact Statement Without volunteers the Stirling Musical Instrument Lending Library (MILL) would not exist.
Volunteers have designed and implemented the program.
Volunteers have donated the instruments, repaired, cleaned and cataloged the instruments in preparation for being loaned.
We have a volunteer coordinator and board and volunteers staff the MILL.
Many musicians have volunteered their time in support of the MILL testing the
instruments and playing at promotional events.
Come join our team of dedicated volunteers committed to the continued growth and development of the Stirling Musical Instrument Lending Library now offering instrument pick up and drop off at local libraries across our service area and bringing music into more people's lives.
Description Help Seniors learn to use their computers - particularly tablets they can borrow from the MILL for musical purposes - live streaming and participating in online musical sessions - and other uses. Can be students or others.
May be a student (or others)working with a senior to learn to play a musical instrument or improve their skills - that may in return assist the Senior mentor with using their computer for a virtual session.
Training Details MILL staff and a technical advisor will give you an overview of the tablets we are lending and tips on working with seniors. we will set you up with a senior who requires help operating their computer and materials to work with.
Working Conditions Initially in the Stirling MILL when Covid protocols allow. But also virtually with Zoom or in a Covid safe environment. Working one on one with a Senior to answer questions and get them comfortable with computer use. MILL accessible and may be able to work from home.
Duration 3 months or less
Timing Anytime
Time Detail Once MILL accessible availability Tuesday or Saturdays for a few hours would be helpful. Otherwise scheduling up to volunteer and client.
