Position Youth Mentor - Youth Program Volunteer
Location 2 Wooler Road, Trenton, ON, Canada
Description As a Youth Mentor, you will provide guidance, support, and encouragement to youth, helping them navigate personal, academic, and professional challenges. Mentors will serve as positive role models, fostering the development of life skills and confidence in their mentees.

Key Responsibilities:

-Establish and maintain a supportive and trusting relationship with assigned youth.
-Meet with mentees regularly, either one-on-one or in group settings.
-Provide academic support, including homework help and study skills development.
-Assist in setting personal and educational goals, and help mentees develop strategies to achieve them.
-Engage in recreational and extracurricular activities to promote positive social interaction and skill development.
-Encourage participation in community service and volunteer activities.
-Offer career guidance, including resume building, interview preparation, and networking opportunities.
-Maintain open communication with program staff regarding mentee progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

-Passion for working with youth and a commitment to their development.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Patience, empathy, and the ability to be a positive role model.
-Reliable and able to commit to a regular schedule.
-Previous experience in mentoring, coaching, or teaching is a plus, but not required.
-Ability to pass a background check.

Time Commitment:

-Minimum of 2 hours a week.

-A commitment of at least one year is preferred to ensure continuity for the mentee.
