Volunteers will feel that they've made a difference in their local community by supporting the Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward.
All funds raised stay local in support of programs, supports, services and advocacy for those living in our community with dementia and their care partners.
Description Alzheimer Society Hastings-Prince Edward is thrilled to start an In-Home Recreation Activities Program for our clients. Lead by our Activation Coordinator, volunteers will be trained in dementia care and various activation activities to do with clients in their own homes.

We are looking for volunteers to commit to as little as one visit (1.5 hours) per week with one client for 12 weeks at a time. If you are interested in taking on more than 1 client at a time, we would also welcome this as we anticipate our waiting list to grow quite quickly.

We are hoping to reach clients in all of our catchment areas, from Bancroft to Prince Edward County, and Brighton to Tyendinaga.
Training Details Dementia training, teaching activation activities to do with clients in their homes.
Working Conditions Working in a client's home doing recreation activities with them for 1.5 hours at a time. Some examples of activities would be puzzles, word games, baking, walking, games, and social visits.
Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Must be available for at least 1.5hrs a week during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:30
