Impact Statement As a member of the Branch Council, volunteers work within a team environment with several individuals working together to cover positions as a committee. Yes, individuals are named to some specific positions but teamwork is encouraged. We have our general meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month 1pm at the Quinte West Public Library (multi-purpose room) open to both members and the general public; from January to June then September to November; with our OGS Branch Council members meeting 2nd Thursday of the month.
Description Your role will include researching and booking speakers for our webinar/in-person educational or genealogical subject matter meetings. You will book the Zoom meetings and provide this link and a subject matter information sheet to the other members of our committee and with the OGS website. You will run the Zoom meeting and manage the chat. You will work with the committee and participate in our Teams meetings once/month. You will provide a report and keep an updated Event Planner log. You will be provided an OGS email on Office 365 and expected to monitor it and use the apps there for your volunteer position, ie: Teams, Outlook, etc.
Training Details Written material will be provided as well as in person and/or Teams/Zoom/telephone chats with various other committee members as needed. Some support from OGS head office is offered.
Working Conditions You will work from home though ideally be available in person for meetings as required. The Quinte West Public Library is wheelchair accessible. Your work may be approx 10 hours a month, less in the summer.

Timing Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime, Anytime
Time Detail Currently our committee meetings are Thursdays 1-3 pm. If you cannot make it due to your own work schedule please still consider applying. The 3rd Saturday/9 months a year you will be required to be available.
