Description |
The Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected from the community at large. The Board consists of up to 14 members each elected for 3-year terms and includes 2-year appointments from Alderville First Nation and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. The Board meets 10 times a year to ensure that we are meeting our standards of service to children and families, and discusses programs and services, policy, and administrative issues. The Board also has two standing committees that meet each month 10 times a year and advisory committees that meet either monthly or quarterly. We encourage applications from all candidates, with particular regard to anyone with lived experience in the child welfare system or anyone from an equity-deserving group. Applicants must reside within Hastings, Prince Edward or Northumberland Counties and should have a passion for serving children, youth and families. Professional experience in finance, human resources, social services, law, education, EDI(equity, diversity and inclusivity), and services to support people with developmental disabilities or metal health concerns are also considered assets. Board members are provided with ongoing training and learning opportunities to support professional and personal growth. If you are unable to commit to a three-year term on the Board, please consider joining for a one-year term as a Community Member on our Service & Administration Committee.
